Dr Tay Su Ann | Partner & Senior Consultant

Dr Tay Su Ann is a partner and senior consultant at Eye & Retina Surgeons (ERS), Camden Medical.

She has a special interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (Squints) in both adults and children.

Prior to joining ERS, Dr Tay was a consultant with both the Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology and the Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Departments at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), and at the KK Women’s and Children’s hospital (KKH) where she spearheaded the set up of digital screening for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). She was also appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore.

Dr Tay was awarded an overseas scholarship and graduated from the University College London and Royal Free Hospital in the United Kingdom. She completed her ophthalmology specialist training at SNEC and received the SingHealth Residency Best Registrar Award in 2015. After obtaining her Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology she went on to pursue further sub-specialty training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (Squints), and completed 2 fellowships, one locally and one abroad, in Auckland, New Zealand under Dr Justin Mora and Dr Shuan Dai.

A dedicated clinician, Dr Tay received the Gold Award at the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards in 2024 and has been involved in medical mission trips to Ladakh, India with Global Clinic Singapore. Besides her passion for clinical practice, Dr Tay strongly believes in imparting clinical and surgical knowledge and is still actively involved in training the next generation of young ophthalmologists as a visiting consultant at KKH and SNEC.

Dr Tay is proficient in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery and as a Paediatric Ophthalmologist also manages conditions such squints in both children and adults, amblyopia, childhood myopia, paediatric cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity.
